A RareFlavours evening is a tasting menu cooked in your kitchen and served at your table by private chef Josh. Every menu is written for your occasion and your guests, and every course is finished and plated on the night.

It suits dinner parties, birthdays, anniversaries and company dinners, anywhere across Rugby and the East Midlands.

On the night

  1. 01Before guests arrive

    Arrival

    Josh arrives ahead of time with the ingredients, sets up quietly in your kitchen and starts the preparation that only happens on the day.

  2. 02As guests sit down

    First taste

    Service opens with an amuse bouche, a small first taste of the menu, such as a chilled gazpacho of tomato and pepper.

  3. 03Course by course

    Service

    Each course is finished, plated and brought to the table with a word about what is on the plate, at the pace your evening wants.

    Dessert

    Something to linger over, such as caramelised brown sugar tart with espresso chantilly, while the conversation carries on.

    Clear down

    Washing up done, surfaces wiped and the kitchen left as Josh found it. Nothing to deal with in the morning.

How long does a private chef evening take?

Josh arrives ahead of your guests to set up, and service runs at the pace of your evening. The kitchen is cleared down after dessert. Share your preferred timings when you reserve.

What do I need in my kitchen?

A working oven and hob, some worktop space and a sink. Josh brings the ingredients and the specialist kit he needs to finish each course.

Do I need to be in the kitchen?

No. You stay at the table with your guests. Josh cooks, plates and serves each course, then clears down.

How many guests can you cook for?

From a dinner for two to a full table of friends or colleagues. Tell Josh your numbers and he will advise on the best format.
